How does online study work?

Online study is a lot like regular study, just without the face-to-face element.

Much like regular study, you will still have a trainer. Your trainer is a professional in their field and will use their industry skills and experience to help you navigate through your course and add context to your studies. Despite not being face-to-face, you are still able to set up a regular time to meet with your trainer via Skype or email or SMS.

You will have 24/7 access to an interactive, secure e-Learning platform called StudySpot. StudySpot is where you will be able to view your webinars, access your learning materials, contribute to discussion forums and submit your assessments. You will also have unlimited access to a wide repository of learning materials through Lynda.com and Microsoft Learning Academy to support your studies.

How long will I be required to study?

We recommend that you set aside 20 hours per week for your studies; this includes course work, trainer support time and assessments. However, these timeframes may vary depending on individual experience.

The total length of our courses is 15 months.

What are the entry requirements for the courses?

All of our courses require students to be 17 years or older and have adequate language, literacy and numeracy skills to complete the course.

What do I need to do to be enrolled?

If you meet the entry requirements to study a course, you can complete your enrolment in 3 simple stages.

Stage One: Register your interest for a course. If you request more information, you will receive a phone call from one of our course advisors. If you have selected 'Secure your seat' you can then move straight on to your online enrolment.

Stage Two: You will need to complete a Student Enrolment Agreement, a Pre Enrolment Profile and a Capability Quiz as well as provide any supporting documentation and identification to validate your application.

Stage Three: You will complete a Kick Start Workshop, to get started in the course. If all your documentation is in order you will then be enrolled and ready to start studying!

When can I start my course?

AIICT doesn't have fixed start dates, which means that once your enrolment is accepted, you can start straight away! APPLY TODAY, start tomorrow!

Are the courses nationally recognised?

Yes, all of our courses are recognised across Australia.

What is a Unique Student Identifier (USI) and why do I need it?

This Federal Government has developed a system called the USI (Unique Student Identifier), to help Australian students gain access to their results when they complete a nationally recognised course, or part thereof. The USI is generated online, does not cost anything and will be recorded whenever you enrol in a nationally recognised VET course.

You will need to supply your personal USI at the time of enrolment and give this number to your trainer or to someone at an AIICT office. Please note that if you do not have a USI, we will not be able issue you a qualification.

Does AIICT offer Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)?

Yes, we offer RPL You can use your previous education or training, and your specific career experience to fast-track your studies and get qualified sooner.
